The MONDRAGON Corporation originated from the cooperative movement begun in 1956, the year in which the first industrial cooperative was created in Mondragón (Gipuzkoa), and of the joint effort of all its worker members.
Its company philosophy is summed up in its Corporate Values:

MONDRAGON is structured into four Groups: Finance, Industry, Distribution and Knowledge.
- The Finance area includes the CAJA LABORAL banking business and the activities connected with LAGUN-ARO, the Social Welfare Body for the MCC Cooperatives, Insurance and Leasing.
- The Industry area consists of twelve Divisions working in different industrial and services sectors.
- The Distribution area includes commercial distribution and agro-food businesses
ONDOAN forms part of the Engineering and Business Services Division.
